The Science of Good Families is an event organised by the Family Enrichment Society, to share insights on how science informs best practices in nurturing strong, lasting and loving relationships, marriages and families




TOPIC 1: Resilience in the Age of Cognitive Overload by Dr Adriana Banozic‑Tang


  • Synopsis:

    Feeling overwhelmed, distracted, or drained? In this engaging talk, Dr. Adriana Banozic-Tang unpacks how constant stress and digital overload affect our brain’s ability to focus, connect, and stay emotionally balanced. Drawing from neuroscience and clinical insights, she shares simple, research-backed tools to build mental clarity, emotional strength, and lasting resilience in today’s fast-moving world.


  • Dr Adriana Banozic‑Tang is an interdisciplinary academic, clinician, and strategist with a PhD in Neuroscience and an MPA from Columbia University. Her work bridges cognitive science, health innovation, and digital ethics through roles at SMU, NTU, UNESCO, and the UN. Drawing on her clinical and research background, she supports individuals and institutions in building emotional and cognitive resilience in the face of digital overload and chronic stress.


TOPIC 2: Using Our Brain to Thrive and Be Happy in the Age of the Internet & AI by Dr. Maria I. Díaz


  • Synopsis:

    Technology and AI aren’t going anywhere, so how can we make them work with and for us, not against us? In this insightful session, Dr. Maria I. Díaz shares practical habits and brain- enhancing tools to help us and our children leverage AI principles and techniques in ways that boost our well-being, focus, and happiness. Discover how to thrive, not just survive in the digital age.


  • Dr Maria I. Díaz is a clinical neuropsychologist specialising in the optimisation of cognitive function and emotional regulation to improve both mental and physical well-being. She has done extensive research on the topic and wrote her Doctoral Thesis on the impact of internet usage and social media on adolescents.
